THE CHALLENGE
Dairy Cottage has been a Springfield institution since 1940—serving award-winning cheesesteaks to three generations of Delaware County families. But when Abraham Wewè took over in 2024, he discovered that the restaurant's biggest threat wasn't competition. It was a website from 2005.
OUR APPROACH
We delivered a modern, high-performance website that captures Dairy Cottage's warmth and heritage while giving Abraham something he'd never had: complete control over his digital presence—and a direct line to online revenue.
Every design decision started with a simple question: would this feel at home in a restaurant that's been serving families since 1940? We chose warm cream backgrounds over sterile whites, hand-drawn illustrations over stock photography, and a serif typeface that echoes the character of classic American diners.
Customers add items, customize orders, and pay—all without being redirected to a third-party marketplace. Native integration qualifies for DoorDash Drive rates (15%) instead of marketplace fees (30%), and menu changes in Sanity CMS automatically sync to DoorDash.
I expected a nice website. What I got was a complete business tool. I can update the menu from my phone, customers order directly from the site, and we show up first when people search for restaurants in Springfield.
