CASE STUDY
A custom booking and business management platform built for a college barber who outgrew every tool on the market. Real-time scheduling, analytics, client CRM, and Google Calendar sync—built in 6 weeks.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
THE ORIGIN
Luke Anderson started cutting hair his freshman year at Penn State. Word spread fast—by sophomore year he was booked solid, averaging 77 appointments a month. But his entire business ran on Instagram DMs, a Notes app, and memory. No calendar, no client records, no way to track who paid and who didn't.
He tried everything: Booksy, Square Appointments, Vagaro. Booksy charged per booking and locked features behind premium tiers. Square was built for retail, not services. Vagaro was bloated with salon features he'd never use. None of them let him customize his booking flow, set recurring availability around a class schedule, or see real analytics about his business.
What Luke wanted was simple: software that works the way he works. A booking system that understands a college schedule, client management that remembers who tips well and who no-shows, and analytics that tell him whether he's actually growing—not just busy.
"I was losing two or three clients a week to double-bookings and forgotten DMs. I'd have two people show up at the same time, or completely forget someone messaged me during class. I knew I needed a system, but everything out there was either too expensive or built for a 10-chair salon, not a one-man operation."
WHAT WE BUILT
We built Luke a complete business platform in 6 weeks—booking management, client CRM, analytics, and a page builder—all designed around how a solo barber actually works.
Calendar and list views with drag-and-drop rescheduling, two-way Google Calendar sync so class blocks are automatically unavailable, and manual override for last-minute walk-ins. Clients book through Luke's custom page and get automatic confirmations—no more DM chains.

Every client gets a profile: visit history, preferred services, payment records, and custom tags like VIP or frequent no-show. Luke can search his entire client base, see who hasn't booked in a while, and send targeted follow-ups to keep his chair full.

Revenue trends, client retention rates, no-show percentages, and projected monthly income—all updated in real time. Luke can see which days are most profitable, which services drive the most revenue, and whether he's on track to hit his monthly goals.

We gave Luke a drag-and-drop page builder so he can customize his booking page without touching code—services, pricing, photos, availability, all on-brand. Combined with two-way Google Calendar sync, his entire business runs from one platform that he fully controls.
THE IMPACT
I went from chasing DMs between classes to having a full business platform. Clients book themselves, I see exactly how my month looks, and I haven't double-booked anyone since launch. They built it fast enough that I didn't miss a single week of appointments.

THE OUTCOME
Double-bookings dropped to zero. No-show rates fell as automated reminders replaced forgotten DMs. Luke can now see exactly how his business is performing, make data-driven decisions about pricing and availability, and spend his time cutting hair instead of managing spreadsheets.
